Apple has been criticized for not making changes to the iPhone design in recent years. Although it has opened a new page with Dynamic Island, it continues to use similar lines, especially in the back case design. The resulting new iPhone 16 scheme showed that the camera will be positioned vertically again.
iPhone 16 schematic shows vertical camera design
New leaks from India shed light on the possible design changes we will see in the iPhone 16 series . The scheme, created by a concept designer based on leaks, revealed that the standard iPhone 16 will return to the vertical camera module .
Apple has adopted the island design in the rear camera setup since the iPhone 12 series. However, the use of the same module across several models has sparked criticism in the smartphone world. The company may turn to a vertical camera both to alleviate these criticisms and for spatial video recording.
For those who don’t know, spatial video is used in Vision Pro . If the iPhone 16’s camera is optimized for spatial video, it can open a new page in Vision Pro integration. It should be noted that this support is offered with iOS 17.2.
The schematic design also showed that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will be the same size. It has been revealed that the Pro models will also get a much improved Action button .
It is also said that Apple will switch to a periscope telephoto lens years later with the iPhone 16 Pro . It should be reminded that there are currently 3x zoom sensors in the Pro series. On the other hand, all models will be powered by the A18 / A18 Pro chipset and will have a dual 48 Megapixel rear camera.
